MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR) is the largest and best-known stress reduction programme in the world. It was developed by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center over 30 years ago, to support patients suffering from chronic pain and has since been adapted by Mark Williams, John Teasdale and Zindel Segal as a relapse prevention programme for depression (MBCT).
Its benefits have been widely endorsed by the international scientific and medical communities, including the UK’s National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE).

This 8-week course offers an integrated programme of guided meditation, mindful movement and a range of formal and informal practices, through which participants can discover how Mindfulness can help them engage more positively with the world. Daily practice for 45-60 minutes, supported by CDs and workbook, is a pivotal part of the training. Throughout, you are encouraged to foster a welcoming attitude of kindly acceptance to present moment experience.
Evening Course: October 4-November 22, 2016
Frequency: 8 sessions, 2 hours weekly
Time: Tuesdays, 6:45-8:45 pm
Daytime Course: October 10 - November 28, 2016
Frequency: 8 sessions, 2 hours weeklyTime: Mondays, 9:30- 11:30 am
Plus one full day of shared Mindfulness practice (both groups) on Saturday November 12, 9:30am-2:30pm
The course fee is £295 and is payable in full at the time of booking.
The fee includes all course materials, a comprehensive course workbook and CDs to support your home practice. Additional support is offered to participants throughout the course via email or telephone.
A 50% refund is offered for cancellations up to 2 weeks before the start date of the course. Cancellations less than two weeks before the start date do not qualify for refunds or transfers.

No previous experience in Mindfulness practice, Yoga or sitting meditation is required to participate in this programme.
A 1:1 pre-course meeting (one hour) is available on request. Please note that there is a charge for this meeting of £50, which incurs no further obligation.
